Fessura is a 2020 analog multiple exposure photographic series on 35mm black and white film. The first exposure was made on the urban landscape of Santiago de Chile after the social explosion promoted by the injustices of a wild neoliberal policy that derived from the process of rewriting the Constitution left behind by the Pinochet dictatorship. The second exposure was made in the darkroom with slides from classic works by my grandfather, a political prisoner during the dictatorship, during his journey through Europe after his diplomatic visit to the SovietUnion as a metallurgical engineer. The series produces fortuitous encounters between disparate temporalities and iconographies, creating unforeseen resignifications. It is also the result of the overlapping of visions between mine and my grandfather's.
